Description:
This 3-year project involves the installation of 140+ miles of ADSS and OPGW fiber optic cabling between all existing SMUD substations. The fiber is primarily for the monitoring of ongoing substation operations.

The fiber is installed in a variety of ways including existing poles, high voltage towers and underground conduits. Contra Costa Electric's Utility Department teamed with our Technologies Department for this project as the work also consists of testing and terminating installed fiber.
