Description:
The Elk Hills Power Plant is located in the vicinity of Taft, California. This combined-cycle facility's purpose when becoming operational was to add 570 Megawatts of power capacity to the California grid. Elk Hills is able to meet the power requirements of what would amount to 500,000 homes.

Contra Costa Electric's construction role on this fast track project consisted of the electrical process instrumentation and switchyard installation, the instrumentation calibration, loop check, and start up.
